The foundation female in the Rubyjen Herd, hence the choice of herd prefix. Sired by the much rated Marbelhill Liam out of Jenny a Brinkton Brilliant daughter, Jenny was shown successfully as a Yearling heifer collecting many red rosettes summer '99. Ruby is breeding exceptionally well, a highly fertile cow having to date produced 8 calves in 7 seasons, having always held to first service.

Her first son "Axel" was shown successfully in 2009, from 9 outings he claimed 8 red rosettes. These included Celtic Sires Male Champion, National Weanling Bull Champion and Champion Weanling Bull at the Society Premier sale Nov '09.

He was sold to the Glenduff Herd of Val Cussen, Co Limerick.

 

Captain Jack was sold at the Roscommon Spring Sale '12, having spoken with his owner in Sept '15 she made the following comment "I have 20 of his daughters calved and he has improved them all on their mothers milk"

Spring 2017 at 13 years old Ruby had her 12th calf, gaining 6 weeks on the previous years calving date, having slipped slightly in 2014 following a leg injury post calving.
